Former US President Bill Clinton invites 8year old Nigerian refugee Chess Champion, Tanitoluwa


Former US president Bill Clinton has invited Tanitoluwa, the Nigerian chess Champion and his parents to his office in Harlem.

Clinton made a tweet , by saying ” Refugees enrich our nation and talent is universal, even if opportunity is not.” This story made me smile.”

He continued by saying ” Tanitoluwa, you are exemplifya winning spirit -in chess and in life. And Kudos to your hardworking parents. You all should stop by my office in Harlem, I love to meet you.”

Tanitoluwa came first and winner of the 3rd grade category of chess Championship in New York city, he lives with his parents in a homeless shelter after moving away from Nigeria to US because of Boko haram attacks in the Northern part of Nigeria.

They have sought Asylum an immigration hearing has been scheduled for August, 2019.
