Former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, said he was not on board the Boeing 777-300 aircraft Ethiopian airline that encountered the bad weather during landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday.
The former President was widely reported to have been among the passengers on the flight from Adiss-Ababa, Capital of Ethiopia.
But Obasanjo said he didn’t travel, let alone board that said flight.
He made the clarification through his spokesperson, Kehinde Akinyemi.
Akinyemi said Obasanjo has been in his home in Abeokuta, Ogun State and the former president didn’t travel.
There was rumored that the former president went for a meeting, stakeholder’s dialogue on continental Trade and Strengthening implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement(AFCFTA) which ended on Tuesday in Adiss-Ababa when the incident occurred.
