Mikel Obi, Ighalo retires from the National team, Super Eagles

Both Super Eagles Nigerian football ball players  Mikel John Obi and Jude Ighalo has retired from the National Team, Super Eagles.

Immediately after the AFCON Egypt, 2019, where the Super Eagles played against Tunisia and  came in 3rd position.

Jude Ighalo who is the highest goal scorer in the tournament with five goals, informed coach Gernot of his decision before leaving to join his club in China Immediately, after the game. He discussed with the coach saying, the constant abuse was taking a toll on his young family but he was advised to keep it under wraps for the moment, after their final match he gave his Jersey as a souvenir to the coach, said his goodbyes and left, sources told ESPN.

Mikel Obi also confirmed his own retirement, by sharing a post about his retirement on his Instagram page. After their final game with Tunisia.

He wrote “Egypt is a country where I’ve started and have finished my my National career. In 2006 I played my first official Championship for my country. 2019 African cup of Nations marks my last championship for National team with Super Eagles”well for both of the Super Eagles big stars Nigerians will greatly miss them, we look forward to the future and wish them well in all their endeavors.
