Five thousand vulnerable persons,among whom are widows and the aged in Bolori 1 and 2 wards, were beneficiaries of Sunday’s food palliatives, authorized by the Borno state Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
Information made available revealed that the distribution in Gwange 1, 2 and 3 wards which started on Friday has reached over 10,000 persons.
The essence of the relief items is to cushion the effect of the lockdown adopted as a means of preventing the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
The distribution exercise was led by the chairman of the palliative committee Engr. Bukar Talba.
Among the beneficiaries of the palliatives in Bolori 1 and 2 are 1000 physically challenged, 1000 Widows, 500 aged persons and 2500 vulnerable members of the two wards.
The sharing exercise was held at Federal Low cost Primary and Umarari Primary Schools consecutively. With each beneficiaries leaving with 1 bag of millet grain, 1 carton of condiments and pasta as directed by Engr. Talba.
